Driving Directions

Copper Center is located about 200 miles southeast of Anchorage, Alaska and is just outside of Wrangell St. Elias National Park. For your convenience, your personal jet or charter aircraft can land at Gulkana Airport's paved runway, where we will pick you up. You can also take a 1-hour charter plane ride from Anchorage to Gulkana. However, if decide to drive, we are a short 3.5 to 4 hour drive along Alaska's scenic highways.

Charter Flight Operators
We recommend the following air charter services for travel between Anchorage and the Gulkana airport.

Driving Directions
From Anchorage, takeGlenn Highway (#1) east for 187 miles.
At Glennallen, take Richardson Highway (#4) south towards Valdez for 14 miles.
Turn left onto Old Richardson Highway at the 2nd Copper Center turnoff.
Take the 2nd right onto the unmarked Airport Strip Road, just past the gravel pit.
Continue straight ahead and you will reach our lodge.
